What You'll Do:
The
Airspace
Engineer
will support NAVAIR's PMA-262 at NAS Pax River, MD. PMA-262 manages the development, production, fielding, and sustainment of the ACAT-1D Triton (MQ-4C) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).
The individual will be expected to be in the office at least two days/week, with the flexibility to come into the office as needed by the government customer.
Candidate should be local to the Patuxent River, MD area in order to accommodate this.Supporting an integrated multi-discipline team in the execution of the day-to-day management for the Triton UAS program's Airspace Integration activities which includes the development, validation, sustainment, and production of sub-systems integral to the due regard capability
Development of a systems approach to airspace access, allowing the Triton UAS to safely operate in global, civil, and military air traffic management environments
Development of a Due Regard Safety Case in support of the NAVAIR Certification process, overseeing the development of analysis, and engineering artifacts that effectively balance verification of requirements between T&E and Modeling & Simulation
Supporting the Core Avionics activities of the Triton UAS team, including the Development IPT, Configuration Management, Systems Engineering, Sustainment Contracting, and Financial Management teams
Coordination with the Triton UAS Industry partners including the Prime Contractor, principal subcontractors, and supplier
Requirements
Who You Are:
The
Airspace Engineer
will have the following education, skills, and experience:
Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline is required
A minimum of 5 years of aviation avionics-related engineering is required
Prior experience with UAS platforms is desired
Familiarity with any of the following systems is desired: Air-to-Air Radar (ATAR) Sub-System, Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS)/Airborne Collision Avoidance System for Unmanned Aircraft (ACAS Xu), Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Sense and Avoid, and Mission Control System (MCS)

Security Clearance Requirements:
This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD
Secret clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance in the future if required.
