Accounting Manager
for our
East Syracuse Branch .
As an Accounting Manager, you will be a key member of our finance team, overseeing and managing various aspects of the accounting functions within the organization.
Working closely with the Controller, you will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and implementing internal controls.
This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
Coordinate with the finance team to ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring their professional development and adherence to best practices.
Internal Controls:
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Conduct periodic audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and propose improvements.
Monitor billing discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
Ensure the timely and accurate payment to lenders and financial institutions for debt obligations.
Collections Management
Develop and implement strategies to optimize the collections process and reduce outstanding receivables.
Work closely with customers and vendors to address billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
General Ledger Management:
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation of weekly payroll processing.
Audit Preparation:
Assist in the coordination and preparation of materials for external audits.
Respond to audit inquiries and implement audit recommendations.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Skills & Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Education &
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounting and related positions.
Proven experience in a supervisory role.
