The Maintenance Unit Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Maintaining a safe work environment and a workplace that causes no harm to people or the environment.
  • Leading individual safety discussions and jobspecific safety reviews.
  • Supporting operating results through the management of subordinates, with emphasis on quantity, quality, timeliness, safety, recovery, and delivery performance.
  • Developing individuals in the organization by providing challenging assignments for the craftspeople and by providing training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensuring work is allocated fairly and clearly assigned to crew members; formulating and assigning tasks within guidelines established by Department management and prioritizing work based on knowledge of business criticality.
  • Deciding and deploying appropriate crewing arrangements for planned and unplanned situations based on absences, schedule requirements, equipment availability, and vacations within labor agreement guidelines.
  • Leading a technically capable maintenance workforce that values diversity and is customeroriented, responsive, and flexible.
  • Effective asset management in a costeffective manner, including proper equipment operations, worldclass equipment availability, and longterm viability of equipment.
  • Advancing the business objectives regarding quality (consistency and reliability), costs (supplies), waste elimination, and lean manufacturing.
  • Making decisions about differential performance, both those requiring recognition and reward and those requiring discipline, in a fair and equitable manner with supporting documentation of the appropriateness of actions taken.
  • Frequently seeking cooperation from, persuading or influencing others, and developing relationships to resolve problems, change people's minds, or directly produce customer satisfaction. Occasionally dealing with sensitive interpersonal situations.

Basic Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of handson maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical background is a plus.
  • Experience in a union environment

Pay:
$78, $80,390.00 per year
