***The Support Specialist I - Refugee Services works directly with refugees and other eligible immigrant populations to determine Refugee Cash Assistance's (RCA) program eligibility, provide enrollment and compliance monitoring, and exit planning at the end of RCA period. The Support Specialist I will work with Employment and Case Management teams and AZ Refugee Resettlement Program to ensure participant success and continued compliance with program requirement.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess eligibility for program enrollment for refugees, asylees, Cuban/Haitian parolees, Ukrainian parolees, and other eligible immigrant populations
  • Initiate RCA enrollment process for eligible clients and meet with participants to explain program rights and responsibilities
  • Verify potential enrollees are not enrolled in any other cash assistance program
  • Upload and maintain appropriate program documentation in ARRPODS (computer software program)
  • Communicate participant enrollment to both employment and case management teams
  • Request, issue, activate, and troubleshoot payment cards with participants
  • Conduct monthly checkin meetings with each participant to ensure compliance with program responsibilities and maintain uptodate budget
  • Monitor participants' continued understanding of program guidelines and compliance
  • Coordinate with case manager to ensure proper documentation of all participant interactions and monthly compliance in ARRPODS in a timely manner
  • Follow appropriate case closure processes, including oneonone meetings to discuss selfsufficiency and transition off of cash assistance
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's Degree, preferably in Social Work or a related field and 1 year of experience in a social services setting
  • Experience in refugee resettlement work preferred
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in a multicultural setting and with limitedEnglish proficiency speakers
  • Ability to communicate effectively through a thirdparty interpreter
  • International work or study experience and second language abilities a plus

  • Must be willing to accept feedback, and respond in professional manner
