Summary:


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of multiple programming languages, database management systems and development platforms
  • Skills in understanding and explaining highly technical issues and solutions in nontechnical terms; working effectively in teams and across organizations; balancing and prioritizing between multiple work streams; collaborating with colleagues and teams in different fields across a diverse organization; solving advanced complex problems in own area of work

Nuclear requirement:
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response

  • Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
  • Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or shortnotice outage.
  • This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
  • These are a condition of employment at PVNGS

Major Accountabilities:


  • 1) Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products and/or in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms 3) Conducts performance reviews and recommends improvements to existing codes
  • 4) Reviews and recommends equipment, resources and software
  • 5) Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards.6) Trains users in conversion and implementation of system
  • 7) Conduct integration system testing and evaluations
  • 8) Leads the design, development and implementation of new solutions
  • Key Level Differentiators:
  • Works to achieve operational targets with significant impact on departmental results
  • Works independently to deliver, implement, and support engineering projects/assignments
  • Analyzes and resolves complex technical solutions engineering problems using experience, judgment and various technologies/software; may take a new perspective on existing engineering solution.
  • Provides advice as a goto technical resource for
    APS solutions engineering colleagues with less experience or to a small team; May lead small subdivision teams
  • May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other solution engineers within job area
  • Responsible for making improvements of processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of solutions engineering operations
  • Makes decisions within area of direct responsibility

Flex Role:


This position is not required to be performed at a specific
APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present.

Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work.


Employees will have two options to choose from:


  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an
    APS facility.
  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.
