The Home Loan Specialist is an entry level role supporting various Channels. As the Home Loan Specialist for Appraisals, you will act as a key contributor to facilitate efficient and effective processes that support business and customer service objectives.
The Home Loan Specialist will:
Perform routine data entry and validation tasks
Initiate third party orders (title, appraisal, hazard, flood cert, credit, etc.)
Review and validate loan documents
Handle routine calls, emails and/or chat responses
Monitor work queues and intervening as needed
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values
Two Parts of the Appraisals Team - Heavy appraisal monitoring and Exception Reports
this candidate will be mainly communicating with vendors and appraisers via email
some potential for inbound phone calls from VA Appraisers - at most 10 per week for the whole time
Linda's goal is for them to be the Escalations Team for all Appraisals
This candidate will start of doing Heavy Appraisal monitoring:
data entry
ordering appraisals - Conventional, FA's, FHA's, etc.
working through a queue of emails to identify why an appraisal is not moving (missing a document, needing additional approval, etc.).
validating appraisals
Once the Heavy Appraisal Monitoring is learned, then this candidate will move into Exception Reports:
QA's
why did a certain loan fail?
was there a document that was expired?
can they get a Property Inspection Waiver in place? (waives the full home appraisal process)
Skills & Qualifications:
Candidates with limited experience can do well if there is drive and the ability to work hard and improve.
Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
General understanding of applicable Federal, State and Local regulations
