    Summary:

    Are you ready to be a key player in our data team? As a Senior Data Engineer at Growing Data Solutions, you'll collaborate with stakeholders to tackle challenging technical requirements. Your role involves managing various projects, prioritizing tasks, and finding solutions in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Designing and implementing high-performance data architecture for both operational and analytical purposes.
    • Building and maintaining robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines.
    • Developing complex ETL processes to merge data sources into a central data warehouse.
    • Optimizing data flow for data science and business analytics teams.
    • Enhancing existing databases and data systems through upgrades and enhancements.
    • Working closely with cross-functional teams to meet data requirements and implement solutions.
    • Enforcing data governance and ensuring compliance with security and privacy regulations.
    • Mentoring junior team members and sharing best practices in data engineering.
    • Regularly assessing system performance, implementing enhancements, and troubleshooting.
    • Staying updated on industry trends and emerging data technologies.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a data engineering role.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience in handling large datasets from various sources.
    • Proficient in SQL and familiar with relational SQL and NoSQL databases like Postgres and Cassandra.
    • Proficiency in big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
    • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Azkaban, Luigi, and Airflow.
    • Knowledge of AWS cloud services including EC2, EMR, RDS, and Redshift.
    • Effective project management and organizational abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills for teamwork and project leadership.
    • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and query authoring.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with stream-processing systems like Storm and Spark-Streaming.
    • Proficiency in object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as Python, Java, and Scala.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
    • Holding relevant certifications in data engineering and cloud platforms.
