    Description

    Data Engineer Opportunity:

    A globally recognised hedge fund is looking for a Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team supporting the Commodities business. This role offers you the chance to design, implement, and enhance the data platform, which includes pipelines, repositories, data warehouses, and data access APIs. You will collaborate closely with quant PMs and researchers in a dynamic environment, automating and supporting ETL processes from various market data vendors.

    If you are a passionate engineer with solid financial data knowledge, especially in security master and financial time series across multiple asset classes, along with strong coding skills in Python, Java/C++, and SQL, this position could be ideal for you.

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years' experience in Python
    • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of database concepts with proficiency in SQL and stored procedures
    • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and big data technologies
    • Proficient in working with cloud or on-prem technologies and data infrastructure, such as workflow management engines, databases, storage & file systems, and analytics platforms
    • Experience in processing large and complex datasets
    • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field

    Desirable Skills:

    • Experience with designing and implementing real-time pipelines, data quality and validation, Kafka, Java/C++/Rust/Go
    • Familiarity with traditional and/or alternative datasets in the Commodity space
