- Provide individual advocacy; crisis intervention; emotional support; guidance; information and referrals to program participants.
- Assess participants' needs and develop Individual Participation Plans for each participant.
- Monitor and track student attendance and participation in the scheduled programming on a weekly basis.
- Create and maintain individual files for intake and assessment.
- Work with the Worcester Community Action Council and Quinsigamond Community College to connect eligible participants to HiSet/GED, higher education, and training programs.
- Maintain regular contact with the Department of Transitional Assistance to coordinate participant services.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Ability to perform calmly and hold boundaries in crisis situations.
- Must comprehend historical inequities and the importance of humanizing families in crisis.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized.
- Ability to establish and manage a network of resources for and with participants.
- Must be culturally sensitive and able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with people of all demographics.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Associate degree in human services, counseling, psychology or related field or equivalent education and experience preferred.
- Experience working with youth or young adults required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended intervals.
