    Description

    Job Title: Youth Services Coordinator - YPP Department: Youth Development

    Reports to: Director of Youth Development Effective Date: 3/25/2024

    Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

    Job Summary:

    The Youth Services Coordinator - YPP provides program support and case management to the Young Parent Program. Assisting with all services to ensure participants are receiving support and can gain access to any resources that can help address their needs.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • None
    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Provide individual advocacy; crisis intervention; emotional support; guidance; information and referrals to program participants.
    • Assess participants' needs and develop Individual Participation Plans for each participant.
    • Monitor and track student attendance and participation in the scheduled programming on a weekly basis.
    • Create and maintain individual files for intake and assessment.
    • Work with the Worcester Community Action Council and Quinsigamond Community College to connect eligible participants to HiSet/GED, higher education, and training programs.
    • Maintain regular contact with the Department of Transitional Assistance to coordinate participant services.
    • Perform other duties as requested.
    Qualifications

    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to perform calmly and hold boundaries in crisis situations.
    • Must comprehend historical inequities and the importance of humanizing families in crisis.
    • Ability to multitask and stay organized.
    • Ability to establish and manage a network of resources for and with participants.
    • Must be culturally sensitive and able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with people of all demographics.
    • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
    Education and Experience:
    • Associate degree in human services, counseling, psychology or related field or equivalent education and experience preferred.
    • Experience working with youth or young adults required.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to walk and stand for extended intervals.
