    Description

    Under general supervision, the Transplant RN Coordinator develops and uses advanced clinical management, consultation, education and research to promote quality care for the specific transplant patient populations.

    Provides growth in clinical knowledge through research-based practice with peers.

    This position is responsible for the ongoing training of new staff and keeping up-to-date with the regulatory changes in UNOS and CMS.

    This Transplant RN coordinator position focuses primarily on the coordination of care of the solid organ lung transplant population.

    A Bachelor's degree in nursing and three years' experience as a registered nurse. Transplant nursing experience preferred. An ability to establish cooperative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff and other health care disciplines.

    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

    Frequent) Ability to perform "pinching" operations. (from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted. (For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker.
