    Association Director


    GENERAL SUMMARY


    The Association Director role is your chance to lead up to two professional associations, which will give you a greater opportunity to make an impact on their industry and community members' businesses and careers.

    You'll be working with enthusiastic volunteers who are successful business leaders determined to contribute to the advancement of their industry.

    Our Association Management Team is a specialized group of professionals who work to understand the client's vision and support the board and committees as they focus on high-level goals to ensure the association's successful future.


    As an Association Director, you will lead a designated staff team with the assistance of cross-functional centers of excellence to achieve the client's organizational goals.

    In this role, you will provide direction, project prioritization, and serve as the primary liaison with the client Board of Directors.

    You will also manage the day-to-day operations of the client.


    This position reports to a Vice President of the Etherio Association Management division and is accountable to achievement of client objectives.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


    Manage the overall operations of the association including governance, tax filings, legal requirements, budget oversight, strategic planning, and development and execution of their business plans.

    Effectively manage staff resources to remain within contracted scope of services.
    Manages and/or mentor staff assigned to that client(s) which includes providing feedback, reviewing performance, directing work, delegating and motivating.
    Report on key metrics including financial performance, membership, sponsorship, and engagement.
    Schedule and prepare for Executive and Board of Directors meetings.
    Develop and execute sponsorship sales to achieve budgeted revenue targets.

    Assure the organization and its mission, programs, products, and services are consistently presented with a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders and the public.

    Oversee the design, branding, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products, and services.
    Oversee membership marketing, services and benefits to enhance member and partner experiences.
    Assist with developing and executing program, product and service strategies for the organization.

    Coordinate volunteers and the management team to manage all aspects of the organization's annual conference, webinars, web-based and e-learning initiatives, and other events.

    In partnership with the management team, work with and support all committee chairs to set and achieve goals. Support volunteers in their various roles and coordinate succession planning at all levels.
    Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing or communications
    8 years of not-for-profit management experience, CAE preferred
    Proven success in event management, marketing, sales, volunteer relations, financial management and/or demonstrated business acumen
    Demonstrate a sincere and inherent curiosity for the associations mission.
    Strategic thinker, receptive to new ideas and opportunities, with the ability to drive results
    In-depth knowledge of the underlying principles of the strategic governance model of organizational management, together with skills in the assessment and constructive management of group dynamics in the context of association operations
    Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills and networking
    Experience with association management software preferred

    WORKPLACE LOCATION REQUIREMENTS


    We operate as a Hybrid work environment, working as a combination of remote and in-office presence, as well as the possibility of being onsite at client and/or event locations.


    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
    Ability to travel at most 25%

    SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS


    Requires flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends to meet client, event, or company needs.

    Must be able to remain either in a stationary position most of the time (such as when working in the office), while also being able to stand and/or move for the majority of the time (such as when executing events onsite).

    Need to lift, carry, push, or drag boxes or equipment up to 30 lbs.
    Frequently moves inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
    Need to adapt and function in various physical settings (for example, conference centers, indoor and outdoor spaces).
    Occasionally required to position self in a stooping, kneeling, or crouching manner.
    Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, machinery and computers.
    Frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    Frequently operates a computer and other electronic equipment.

    The noise level in the office work environment is usually low to moderate, while event environments may be moderate to noisy.
