JOB TITLE: PM Custodian

REPORTS TO: Custodian Supervisor

SCHOOL LOCATION: CICS Loomis Longwood Campus (9535 S. Loomis)

HOURS: 2 pm 10 pm

Start Date: Immediately

Compensation: $14/hr

**What Youll Do**

One of our campuses, CICS Longwood, is in need of a dedicated afternoon / evening custodian. The custodian will play a key role in keeping this 3rd grade through 12th grade campus clean so that its staff and students have a safe and pleasant environment that supports teaching and learning.

*Specific responsibilities include but may not be limited to:*

Clean assigned areas, which may include the following activities:

+ Scrubbing

+ Disinfecting

+ Vacuuming

+ Sweeping

+ Mopping

+ Dusting

+ Stripping/Buffing/Waxing/Sealing Floors

+ Shampooing carpets

+ Window washing

Assigned areas include hallways, classrooms, restrooms, offices, cafeteria, auditorium, gym, library, multi-purpose spaces, exterior grounds, parking lot, playground, and any other area assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.

Use chemicals and equipment to perform duties.

Empty trash from trash receptacles.

Clean and sterilize restrooms and water fountains.

Clean up bodily messes including vomit, feces, urine and blood in accordance with training.

Assist Custodial Supervisor with cleaning projects or tasks.

Help Custodial Supervisor train new employees in housekeeping procedures.

Participate, successfully, in the training programs offered to increase the individuals skill and proficiency related to the assignments.

Review current developments, literature and janitorial sources of information related to job responsibility.

Ensure adherence to OSHA and maximum safety procedures.

Perform other duties as delegated by Supervisor.

Follow federal and state laws, as well as company policies.

For Day Custodians: report for duty from 6:30am to 3:00pm on all workdays.

For Night Custodians: report for duty from 2:30pm to 11:00pm on all workdays.

**What You Bring**

Experience serving in a custodial role desired.

Experience in a school environment is preferred.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:**

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, reach with hands and arms, and must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires standing and walking on hard surfaces. Requires work in the presence of mechanical and equipment noise. Requires adapting to rapid changes in temperature. Requires the ability to inspect the cleanliness of facilities and areas that may only be accessible by climbing ladders or stairs, bending, reaching on top of partitions, cabinets, bookcases, and ledges, moving furniture, supplies, or equipment. Must be able to move throughout assigned areas, as work is performed indoors and out-of-doors. Requires a full range of physical motion in order to operate manual and electrically-powered cleaning equipment and machines to include snow shovels.
