    Position Overview

    The Water Business Line at AECOM is actively searching for an innovative and highly skilled Water/Wastewater Conveyance Technical Leader/Senior Project Manager specializing in water/wastewater infrastructure design. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in design engineering related to municipal public conveyance systems and pumping facilities, and they will be ready for immediate engagement at our offices in Orange County or Los Angeles County.

    This key role at AECOM presents an exciting opportunity to focus on a blend of client development, technical leadership in municipal conveyance design, project management, and mentorship of emerging engineering talent. By leveraging AECOM's premier water/wastewater engineering expertise at a regional and national level, this position aims to bolster the business in the Raleigh area.

    The qualified applicant will take on a seller/doer role, overseeing and collaborating with a team of expert engineers on various water-related design ventures - such as collection and distribution pipelines, pump stations, water treatment facilities, and storage systems. Moreover, this individual will spearhead engineering efforts across municipal, state, and federal projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with AECOM experts regionally and nationally in the Water Business Line to introduce innovative solutions and teams to clients, while identifying new business prospects within existing client networks.
    • Work alongside senior technical and marketing staff to craft successful proposals.
    • Act as Client Services Manager for designated clients.
    • Host planning and team meetings.
    • Ensure the successful execution of technical assignments.
    • Act as a Seller/Doer, Project Manager, and technical lead in the planning, design, permitting, and execution of water/wastewater conveyance and pumping projects, encompassing new construction, renovation, and utility relocation within public right-of-way.
    • Supervise project components, including reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, plans, specs, permit packages, and construction phase engineering services.
    • Engage in project management tasks like client coordination, sub-consultant management, regulatory agency liaison, scope/time/cost management, team coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration, and budget tracking.
    • Guide and nurture junior staff, providing development opportunities with a focus on water/wastewater conveyance.
    • Exhibit strong leadership capabilities and adeptly lead multi-disciplinary teams.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BS degree in civil or environmental engineering or similar field
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience, involving municipal water/wastewater projects
    • Licensure as a Professional Engineer
    • Valid U.S. Drivers License and clear Motor Vehicle Records review

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional Engineer license in CA or eligibility for reciprocity within 6 months of hire
    • 15+ years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience
    • Proficiency in preparing engineering proposals and participating in business development
    • Experience with alternative project delivery methods such as design/build and construction management at risk
    • Effective communication and coordination skills with diverse stakeholders
    • Demonstrated expertise in project management and technical leadership for successful project execution
    • Track record in supervising and developing engineering professionals

    Encouraging occasional business travel of 1-3 days per month, this role presents an opportunity for professional growth and skill enhancement.

    Salary will be commensurate with location and individual qualifications, anticipated within the range of $150,000 to $204,000.
