Duties:
The Benefit Specialist will assist health center patients and service area residents in applying for HealthPoint's Sliding Fee Scale assignment, external health care program benefits including but not limited to Primary Health Care (PHC), Healthy Texas Women (HTW), Family Planning (FP) and facilitate enrollment into affordable insurance coverage options through the Health Insurance Marketplaces, and other health care safety net programs such as Medicaid or CHIP through The Benefit Specialist Lead will complement and align with the health center O/E assistance workers and is required to collaborate to ensure that enrollment assistance activities are met.
Education:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
Associates Degree or Higher
Proficiency in Spanish
Work Experience:
Required:
6 months related experience
Preferred:
Minimum 1-year experience working in health care field
Minimum 2 years' experience in program benefit or related health and human services work
Medical Program application completion and enrollment experience
Licenses, Certificates or Registration:
Must possess valid state Driver License and automobile insurance with reliable transportation.
