    Description
    We are looking for a motivated individual with a concentration in either highway or bridge design. This position will mostly include plan production on public sector transportation projects.

    Duties will include roadway layout using design programs, grading plans, traffic sign and pavement marking design, traffic analysis, traffic signal analysis and design, bridge design and detailing, report writing and estimating.

    The qualified candidate will work closely with senior engineers on a wide range of civil engineering projects. The candidate must have the ability to learn quickly. Relocation assistance may be available to qualified candidates.
    Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with transportation/bridge emphasis from an accredited engineering program.
    • EIT or ability to obtain EIT, and intent to pursue a professional engineering license
    0-10 years' experience in the design of highway/bridge projects.

    • Independent and be able to progress a design with assistance.
    • Contract document (plans, specifications, and estimate) preparation and general knowledge of design support construction administration.
    • Experience with Microstation/AutoCad.
    • Experience with Inroads/Civil 3-D is a plus.
    • Must have strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • The ability to work in a professional and interdisciplinary team environment is also required.
    • General knowledge of NYSDOT standards.
