- Design, implement, and maintain database solutions using Oracle, MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL.
- Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, security management, and troubleshooting.
- Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database solutions meet business requirements.
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices.
- Proven analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability and desire to learn technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to express complex design ideas and technical concepts verbally and in writing.
- Strong ability to coach, support, work with and mentor individuals from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the databases under your administration, be the first respondent to database problems that arise, and carry out periodic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Proficient Data Guard, ASM, Enterprise Manager/Grid Control.
- Expert in SQL query writing and performance tuning
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle database administration.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL database administration.
- Proficiency in database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, security management, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization techniques.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Oracle certification
- Experience with cloud database services on Azure.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
