    Records Specialist 1

    Location: 49th Street North, Clearwater, FL

    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12 pm to 8 pm

    The Clerk of the Circuit Court, as an elected Constitutional Officer responsible for safeguarding public records and funds, is seeking a service minded Records Specialist 1 to provide quality service to our public. As a member of our working team, you will occupy a position offering a unique challenge. You are, in effect, working both for your neighbors and yourself while constantly improving your community. You are a public employee performing essential services for the people of Pinellas County. Our county's citizens are affected by your on-the-job performance and their opinions of our organization are directly influenced by your conduct.

    This is specialized clerical work involving data entry and the processing of a variety of legal documents, in accordance with Florida Statutes, Rules of the Court and other pertinent authorities, performed in an automated work environment. Areas of assignment could be any of the departments under the Clerk of the Circuit Court. Depending upon the department assigned, specific duties may vary, and could require public contact. Decisions are made within established guidelines and procedures.

    What Would You Do?

  • Performs typing/data entry, reviews and processes a variety of legal documents.
  • Performs Case initiation and maintenance.
  • Performs computer operations.
  • Provides customer service (telephone) to citizens.
  • Performs photocopying assignments.
  • Prepares correspondence.
  • Processes court documents/orders/warrants/reports.
  • Performs Image/document scanning /docketing and filing pleadings.
  • Performs related work as assigned or required.
  • What Do You Need To Have?

    Experience– experience in clerical work which may include 1 year of customer service experience.

  • 1 year of experience as described above; or
  • Associate's or higher-level degree with some experience as described above.
  • Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
  • Highly Desirable

  • Basic knowledge of Florida Statutes, Rules of Court and regulations pertinent to area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, grammar, spelling and math.
  • Knowledge of record keeping practices and procedures.
