    Job Title: Senior Product Owner at EAB

    EAB is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic team player to fill the role of Senior Product Owner. This position involves driving the engineering team towards enhancing EAB products. As a visionary, you'll be in charge of planning and executing significant technical projects while collaborating closely with creative engineers to create technologies that advance the education sector.

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, this role is ideally located in Washington, D.C. or Richmond, VA, with the possibility for remote work within the continental United States. The job is also open to candidates interested in the Product Owner position at different levels.

    Please note that this opportunity does not support visa sponsorship at present. Candidates must have existing U.S. work authorization without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Direct projects to explore new features and solutions in collaboration with Product Management and senior executives
    • Contribute to enhancing and maintaining the prioritization of the Product Roadmap with the Product Manager
    • Oversee technology feasibility and due diligence activities in product planning
    • Establish and lead a team within an Agile software development environment, utilizing appropriate techniques and tools while empowering the team to self-organize
    • Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to evaluate and propose optimal business and technical solutions.
    • Identify, plan, and address project risks by setting key milestones and tracking progress.
    • Formulate, update, and prioritize Epics and user stories in the product backlog to support development and goal achievement.
    • Promote ongoing improvement of Agile practices and principles, and provide guidance to team members on effective Scrum and Agile usage
    • Participate in scrum events including daily stand-ups, grooming sessions, and sprint planning.
    • Lead broader organizational enhancements beyond Engineering where necessary to cultivate a top-tier technology organization
    • Offer mentoring, coaching, and training to junior Product Owners within the team.
    • Act as a leader within the Product Owner team, contributing to defining best practices and refining processes to elevate the Product Management unit

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in at least four of the following areas:
      • Managing people and project teams
      • Project management
      • Client support and communications
      • Handling multiple technical projects ranging from 1 to over 12 months
      • Exposure to and/or experience with Agile methodologies in project delivery
      • Prior involvement in fostering collaboration across teams encompassing Development, Marketing, Support/Services, and Sales
      • Ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on solutions
    • Technical capability to learn new technologies
    • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Extensive experience with Agile methodologies like SCRUM and KANBAN
    • Background as a Scrum Master or Agile coach
    • Professional certification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM or CSP), PMP, or PgMP
    • Previous work experience in the education industry

    Salary:

    The expected starting salary for this role ranges between $80,000 - $110,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on factors like experience, skills, and location. At EAB, new hires typically join below the top end of the salary range for their position.

    This position also offers the potential for bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation depends on factors including individual and organizational performance.
