    • The Role in Brief:
      As a Product Owner at EAB, you will play a crucial role in steering the engineering team to enhance our products. You'll lead the planning and execution of high-profile technical projects, collaborating closely with innovative engineers to shape and develop technologies that advance the education sector. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, this position is ideally based in Washington, D.C. or Richmond, VA, with a possibility for remote work within the continental United States. The role is also open for consideration at the Senior Product Owner level.
    • Primary Responsibilities:
      • Advocate for key stakeholders to propose optimal business and technical solutions.
      • Maintain and prioritize user stories in the product backlog to influence the Product Roadmap.
      • Lead projects to explore new features and solutions in collaboration with senior executives and Product Management.
      • Drive technology feasibility assessments and due diligence in product planning.
      • Foster the improvement of Scrum and Agile practices to coach the team in an Agile software development setting.
      • Assess and mitigate project risks by establishing key milestones and monitoring progress.
      • Act as the primary link between engineering, stakeholders, and operations.
      • Participate in scrum events such as stand-ups, grooming sessions, and sprint planning.
    • Basic Qualifications:
      • Minimum of 2 years' experience in at least two of the following areas:
        - Managing people and project teams
        - Project management
        - Client support and communications
        - Hands-on experience overseeing multiple technical projects varying in duration from 1 month to over 12 months
        - Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies for project delivery
        - Previous involvement in cross-team collaboration across Development, Marketing, Support/Services, and Sales
      • Effective communication of technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Readiness to travel up to 10%.
    • Ideal Qualifications:
      • Extensive background in using Agile methodologies like SCRUM and KANBAN.
      • Experience as a Scrum Master or Agile coach.
      • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, PMP, or PgMP).
      • Technical aptitude for acquiring knowledge of new technologies.
      • Proven ability to solve problems with a solution-focused approach.
      • Previous work experience in the education industry.

    • Compensation:
      The expected starting salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $90,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. EAB typically does not hire individuals at the higher end of the initial salary range for the role. Moreover, the selected candidate may qualify for discretionary bonus or incentive pay tied to individual and organizational performance.
