About "Yara Agronomy and R&D" unitThe unit is responsible for R&D and agronomic competence within the company. Its objective is to develop and to strengthen Yara's knowledge regarding Crops, Agronomy, and sustainable Agriculture. It also leads the agronomic input and requirements regarding the development of new and innovative Products, Services and Tools. Yara is driven by a strong scientific and innovative spirit in its products and solutions. We place high importance on cutting-edge research focussing on developing solution paradigms suitable for future farming.
You will work collaboratively with other central IT unit teams to build appropriate infrastructure and to implement the ETL pipelines that enables the effective use of the configured infrastructure for global R&D data management.
Your expert knowledge shall also enable the R&D unit and the Agronomic Analytics and Modelling team to use existing platforms and pipelines efficiently.
Close collaboration with other teams within Global Innovation and Yara IT will be vital for success in this role. The position shall report to DMAT lead within the Agronomic Analytics and Modelling group.The position is temporary for two years with the strong possibility of upgrade to permanent position and shall be based in India, base team is in Dülmen, Germany.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with other team members and stakeholders for requirement gathering and logic building.
Gather requirements from the business users in partnership with the Project Lead and ensure that the ETL workflows implemented meet stakeholder requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows to integrate newly generated and legacy research data from various sources into the data management, business intelligence systems.
Analyse and optimize ETL process performance from end to end starting with file processing through writing to database.Writing efficient SQL queries, views, stored procedures within the ETL context.
Investigate and resolve technical issues, Handle common database procedures such as upgrades, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
Develop and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes and workflows, provide peer review to ensure coding practices and quality.
Develop ETL pipelines for consumption of data from external sources/partners.
Automate and maintain applications, infrastructure, database, ETL components etc.
Profile
Bachelors/master's degree in computer science / Data Engineering/ Information technology.
1-2 years' experience in working with databases, particularly PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and familiarity with MS Access, IBM Lotus (for legacy data).
Good knowledge of ETL technologies, ideally AWS/Azure services and SSIS (SQL server Integration Services) but knowledge of AWS is also sufficient.
1-2 years' experience working with containers, preferably Kubernetes or docker or Elastic Container services.1-2 years' experience with tools such as Apache airflow or Apache Hop is a plus.
Familiarity with data warehousing, data marts, and data modelling concepts.
Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) is good to have.
Capacity to work in global and local teams of specialists and willingness to upskill with future technologies.
Flexible with work timings (ability to work with global teams).
Good cross-cultural skills, deep respect for different cultures and diversity.
Fluency in English, knowledge of additional language is preferable.
