    Responsibilities
    Peraton is seeking a JAVA Developer (Mid) in Herndon, VA or Aurora, CO to assist Intelligence Community and DoD customers alongside a skilled, high-performing team.
    Joining this team will involve working with cutting-edge service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness (SSA) data processing and distribution.
    The EMMETT program, an advanced Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, establishes a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), identifies RSOs of interest, and supplies data to ground operators.

    The EMMETT team utilizes:
    - Programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this exceptional SDA I&W system.

    What you'll do supporting the Common Data Services (CDS) on EMMETT:

    • Provide TS/SCI Java software development of modules. Includes techniques like event-driven or state-driven programming, error logging, and exception handling.
    • Conduct TS/SCI software analysis, architecture, engineering, and integration services at the unit, module, and system levels.
    • Execute all aspects of software engineering support required to implement systems.
    • Follow open standards and modern software development methodologies, including recognized 'best' practices by Industry within operational requirements.
    • Deliver technical reports, white papers, and other documentation as needed to document findings of all software engineering service activities.

    Qualifications Required

    • A Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request - contract mandates TS/SCI with poly. Must maintain the clearance.
    • Proficiency in Java (Model, Entity, Data Transfer Object (DTO), Data Access (DAO)).
    • Software design and development experience with cloud architecture, including the use of containers (Docker).
    • Experience in software development on Unix-based operating systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux.
    • Experience with the Spring framework and JUnit test creation, Remote Debugging (JDWP), and Spring Framework - MapStruct Annotations.
    • Experience with a relational database, like PostgreSQL and REDIS (understanding queries and commands).
    • Proficiency in Linux distributions and command usage.
    • Experience with Messaging platforms like ActiveMQ and Camel Route.
    • Working knowledge of web application fundamentals including HTTP, HTML, REST, WebSocket, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Gerrit/ GIT.
    • Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification or in progress of certification.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or Perl.
    • Familiarity with web server configuration on NGINX, Apache, or similar.
    • Knowledge of Bootstrap and Less.
    • Familiarity with Microservices, Containerization, and Kubernetes using Spring Boot.
    • Experience using AWS as a developer.
    • Experience with build/deploy tools like Jenkins and Ansible.
    • Collaboration experience with external developers and integration of their components into a larger framework.
    • Experience in Agile environments.
    • Background in physics, mathematics, or aerospace is a plus.

    Benefits
    Peraton provides comprehensive benefits to employees contributing to this critical National Security program. Employees receive heavily subsidized benefits coverage for themselves and dependents, accrue 25 days of PTO yearly up to a substantial cap, and are eligible for an attractive bonus plan.
    Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range EEO An Equal Opportunity Employer including Disability/Veteran.
