    Real Estate - Property Management Accountant

    We are looking for an experienced real estate and property management accountant to join our expanding team You'll be responsible for keeping our financial records accurate and organized, including accounts payable and receivable, and entering invoices and bills. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for owners and ensure that each account is reconciled correctly. Our ideal candidate takes pride in their detailed bookkeeping work, possesses excellent time-management skills, is well-organized, and has a love for property management and accounting.     Compensation:

    $49,000 - $53,000 yearly

    Responsibilities:
    • Create detailed financial entries and post them to AppFolio and QuickBooks to track all income statements and expenses.
    • Reconcile all business accounts to ensure our records match up and no transaction gets lost.
    • Enter financial data into computer software, making sure all bills and invoices are filed correctly.
    • Facilitate all incoming payments and outgoing checks, including printing, obtaining signatures for, and distributing checks as necessary.
    • Follow up with vendors for accounts payable and keep in touch as needed for collections and ensure bills are accurate, with necessary documentation, and paid on time.
    • Prepare for quarterly reporting using standard best practices and assist in monthly closings.
    • Assist the real estate team or other staff accountants with other accounting duties as needed.
    • Prioritize, assign, and monitor daily activities, and service requests, and make-ready priorities and projects.
    • Create an environment of cooperation, enthusiasm, and professionalism among staff members.
    • Ensure compliance with management company personnel, operations policy and procedures, and company standards.
    • Assist with processing rent and maintain account records as needed.
    • Assist with lease administration, including preparation of rental leases, review of move-in inspections, coordinating with vendors for repairs, confirming with owners that funds are available to pay the contractors timely, and monitoring vacancy reports.
    • Plan, promote, and implement an effective resident retention program.
    • Achieve budget goals regarding occupancy, expenses, and NOI.
    Qualifications:
    • A valid Real Estate License is required for this job.
    • This is an in-person position in a shared office environment.
    • 3+ years of accounting experience and related property management in the residential or commercial industry.
    • A high school diploma is required, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is highly valued.
    • Proficient in property management software, such as AppFolio.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite -Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Proficient in QuickBooks.
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills are a must.
    • A current Georgia Real Estate Agent License is required.
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is preferred.
    • Analytically minded with the capability to use intuition and experience to complement data.
    • The ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely and organized manner.
