- Conduct clinical teaching and supervision of students in areas of specialization including doctoral level courses.
- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through expert teaching.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
- Use innovative, active learning strategies in the classroom and beyond.
- Plan clinical and simulation experiences for, and provides direct supervision and evaluation of students delivering nursing care, as needed.
- Advise students in area of doctoral work; mentor students in evidence-based research and scholarship.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback on student performance; be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies and procedures.
- Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner.
- Doctoral Degree in Nursing required.
- New York State APRN License.
- National certification required.
- 5+ years of teaching experience in academia and 8+ years of clinical practice experience in area of specialization.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Evidence of current scholarship.
- Evidence of national prominence in nursing.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Teaching experience in Doctor of Nursing Practice education.
