- Maintain inventory level records with accuracy
- Monitor and maintain Preventive Maintenance Program and Schedules
- Assist with supervising maintenance department
- Help plan and execute maintenance projects
- Keeps the Maintenance Manager informed of ongoing project status and maintenance work
- Maintain effective communication with department mechanics.
- Assist with ensuring accurate material and labor charge code use and assist with timekeeping requirements.
- Accurate and thorough documentation of hours worked per unit, tasking performed, materials used, and replenishing inventories.
- Some duties will be performed in environmentally challenging conditions including wind and extreme (Hot / Cold) weather conditions.
- Routinely utilize independent judgment and discretion to identify potential issues and solve problems
- Proactively identify any unsafe conditions, hazards, or code violations and communicate them effectively to management
- Learn and utilize computer-based labor, material, and maintenance tracking system
- Evaluate and identify job hazards and effectively communicate information to staff verbally and in writing through various venues, including weekly and daily safety meetings.
- Tracks status of parts ordered and contacts vendors by phone and email as required.
- Perform other duties as required
- A minimum of 1 year experience with parts inventory.
- The ability to identify parts and order parts from vendors.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow established processes required.
- Computer skills with MS Office Suite experience to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Be able and willing to learn and effectively utilize computer-based labor, inventory, and maintenance tracking applications
- Possess the competencies, willingness, and ability to perform the duties of this position
- Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License issued in the United States
- Authorized to work in United States
- Experience with parts inventory and purchasing
- Experience with Mechanical Maintenance Systems and Practices
- Experience with cycle counts and inventory controls/theories.
- Experience with trucking operations
- Associates Degree (Preferred but not Required)
