    Career Opportunity:

    The Facilities Services department is looking for a skilled Facilities Operations Manager (FOM) to take charge of managing multiple libraries in Hennepin County's range of 41 libraries.



    Job Location and Hours:
    This role is based in different Hennepin County libraries and demands candidates with dependable transportation willing to work across various locations. The work schedule will be from Monday to Friday, spanning between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., being on call around the clock, seven days a week.



    Job Type Information:
    This is a full-time position with benefits. The role is internally recognized as a Facilities Operations Manager.



    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee county and contract employees; recruit, train, oversee, and assess performance.
    • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds; ensure all assigned facilities are clean, safe, comfortable, energy-efficient, and operational.
    • Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems and services; enforce safety guidelines.
    • Develop operational budgets, create monthly forecasts, and manage budget accounts following Hennepin County's financial regulations.
    • Manage facility inspections and reports; maintain facility data and plans.
    • Engage and assist customer groups regularly.
    • Provide guidance to enhance departmental strategies in line with county objectives and values.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in facility management, engineering, architecture, or similar field plus two or more years of experience in facilities management within a large organization overseeing multiple facilities and staff supervision. OR
      Six or more years of relevant experience in facilities management in a large organization managing multiple facilities and staff.
    • A valid driver's license and the ability to acquire a Hennepin County driver's permit.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certification in facilities management from International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) and/or Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
    • Experience in staff training, budget administration, managing large facilities, and implementing equity practices.
    • Knowledge of building systems, maintenance, codes, and contract management.
    • Ability to analyze, write procedures, conduct meetings, comprehend blueprints, and work with various software programs.
