    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Payroll Manager will lead, drive, and support all aspects of the payroll process. This role will work closely with Human Resources and the Commissions Coordinator to ensure timely processing of payroll and compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations. The position will drive continuous improvement in payroll processes. In addition, the Payroll Manager will supervise and develop a small team of payroll analysts.

    Responsibilities:
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee payroll.
    • Manage payroll operations internally while utilizing our payroll system.
    • Collaborate closely with the team to ensure efficient payroll processing.
    • Process payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees in a variety of states and multiple legal entities.
    • Identify and implement process improvements.
    • Partner with other departments to ensure the appropriate flow of data and reporting.
    • Assist in ensuring correct payroll allocation to various customer projects.
    • Help management stay compliant with federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying up on new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
    • Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency in payroll processing.
    • Lead the onboarding of acquisitions from a payroll perspective.
    • Manage garnishments and withholding order deductions.
    • Support quarterly OSHA reporting and any payroll tax related audits that arise.
    • Support the Director of Risk Management in the annual workers compensation audit.
    • Responsible for team performance management including training and development.
    • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of payroll information.
    • Assist Corporate Controller in ensuring payroll related internal controls are maintained.
    Skills & Experience:
    • 5+ years of relevant payroll experience.
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
    • Previous management experience.
    • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
    • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to work under tight deadlines.
    • Experience using query tools to access data and create reports.
    • Experience with payroll systems/software.
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills a plus.
