The Federal Real Estate Agency (BImA) is the real estate service provider of the federal government, supporting the government's real estate policy goals and providing the necessary spaces and buildings for almost all federal authorities.

As such, we are represented throughout Germany with over 7,000 employees and take care of a very diverse and colorful real estate portfolio, as well as the ecological use and maintenance of federal natural areas.

To achieve this, we focus on sustainable neighborhood development, CO2-free heating at affordable prices, barrier reduction, digitization, and of course, high levels of tenant satisfaction in our Housing division.


Since September 1, 2020, BImA has taken over the management and development of its approximately
1,300 residential units through its newly established Housing division.

The division manages strategically important scattered properties as well as large residential neighborhoods in established urban areas.

With its housing care services, the division provides affordable housing for federal employees, especially in tight housing markets in economically strong regions and major cities.

In addition to the current focus on modernization and maintenance, the Housing division is committed to sustainable neighborhood development and has a strong focus on demographic change, digitization, and climate change.
