    Seeking a Service Desk Support Specialist - MSP Support Engineer

    Location: Houston, TX 77056

    Duration: 6-month Contract to Hire

    Compensation: up to $75K

    Looking for someone who is comfortable dealing directly with clients and possesses strong communication skills.

    In this position, you will play a key role in providing both onsite and remote advanced technical support to our clients. You will troubleshoot intricate IT issues and ensure the smooth functioning of their IT infrastructure.

    Utilize your expertise in Microsoft and Fortinet technologies to identify, resolve, and elevate IT issues, collaborating closely with our internal teams and client contacts.

    **Responsibilities**

    • Diagnose and resolve complex IT issues for a diverse clientele.
    • Offer technical support for Microsoft Windows desktops, servers, and Active Directory/EntraID.
    • Set up and oversee Fortinet firewalls, switches, access points, and security solutions; experience with Cisco Meraki is advantageous.
    • Carry out regular maintenance tasks like software updates and security patching across various devices - compute, storage, and network.
    • Manage the ticket queue for your designated area of responsibility based on incident or request priority.
    • Document technical tasks and solutions clearly and concisely.
    • Refer unresolved problems to senior engineers or vendors when needed.
    • Maintain a solid grasp of cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices.
    • Work collaboratively with internal teams and client contacts to ensure effective issue resolution.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and foster strong client relationships.

    **Qualifications**

    • 5-7 years of experience in an IT support engineer position, preferably in an MSP environment.
    • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10, 11, Server 2019, 2022).
    • Familiarity with Active Directory management.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure licensing, configuration, and support.
    • Experience in setting up and managing Fortinet firewalls and security solutions.
    • Familiarity with hypervisors and virtual desktop solutions like Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix; familiarity with Scale Compute is a bonus.
    • Willingness to travel to clients in the Houston area (reimbursed for mileage & expenses) and occasional out-of-town travel for company events.
    • Understanding of ITIL framework is beneficial.
    • Additional certifications in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Modern Workspace, Fortinet, Aruba Scale, or other areas are advantageous.
