- Partner on the design, development, implementation, and management of all retirement programs.
- Monitor and analyze benchmarking data and other metrics relevant to retirement and financial benefits.
- Monitor effectiveness of existing practices and assist Director, Retirement Programs with recommending changes that are consistent with retirement trends and company objectives.
- Manage the administration of the company's U.S. retirement programs in accordance with plan documents, vendor agreements, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and takes charge of updates and modifications to those plans and programs.
- Support preparation of data/reports and coordinate the execution of DC and DB plan audits, actuarial valuations, non-discrimination testing, and 5500 submissions.
- Oversee 401(k) payroll processing and funding.
- Manage complex and escalated retirement issues.
- Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's retirement programs. Work with retirement partners to design communication and education strategies and campaigns.
- Lead the project planning & execution of initiatives to streamline retirement plan processes & procedures. Partner with cross-functional areas, such as internal accounting and treasury teams, other members of the benefits team, local HR teams and/or outside vendors
- Provide leadership on merger and acquisition (M&A) initiatives by assessing potential acquisitions due diligence and oversee the project and implementation of competitive harmonized retirement benefits.
- Creatively problem solve, recognize and address systemic issues, and leverage best practices.
- Serve in a consultative role for Canadian benefits team.
- Bachelor's degree is required
- 8+ years experience working with U.S. retirement plans including plan design, program management, pension plan administration, vendor management, and communications.
- Strong understanding of retirement plans, ERISA, and the Internal Revenue Code.
- Experience with advanced issues i.e. union negotiations, plan corrections, vendor integrations and system logic/requirements.
- Understand plan documents (Plan Document, Summary Plan Description (SPD), Amendments, Summary of Material Modifications (SMM) and annual notices).
- Experience with Workday and Dayforce is a plus. Experience with Canadian Retirement Plans is a plus.
- Strong research, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills with a focus on process improvements.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).

Job Description
The Retirement Plans Manager position oversees the day-to-day operations and administration of the ITW defined contribution, defined benefit and supplemental retirement programs serving over 25,000 participants.
