- Lead and manage a team of 6 buyer/planners, providing guidance, coaching, and support to drive performance and achieve departmental objectives.
- Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize backorders, and reduce out-of-stock occurrences, while maintaining supplier on-time delivery metrics.
- Utilize strong analytical skills to forecast demand, analyze inventory trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory management processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, and Finance, to align inventory strategies with business objectives and customer needs.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables, to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Optimize the use of NetSuite ERP or similar systems to enhance inventory visibility and control.
- Drive change initiatives and process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, streamline operations, and increase efficiency.
- Maintain accountability for meeting company-defined metrics related to backorders, out-of-stocks, and supplier on-time delivery.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in inventory management and supply chain operations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in inventory management, forecasting, and purchasing, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables, to analyze data and generate reports.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP or similar enterprise resource planning systems is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, driving performance through effective communication, coaching, and development.
- Experience implementing new ERP systems or leading ERP-related initiatives is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in creating and implementing SOPs to improve inventory management processes.
- High SKU count management experience is highly desirable, preferably within the packaging industry.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
