Description

A planner accomplishes their task by studying and managing work requests; analyzing job requirements; and determining materials, equipment, and labor needs (such as blueprints, tools, parts, and craft workers skill requirements) to complete maintenance economically and efficiently. The maintenance planner is the logistics person. He or she has the responsibility for removing non-productive time from the maintenance work force. His or her basic responsibility is to ensure that when the maintenance work is ready to be performed, there will be no delays during the execution of the work.

Primary Responsibilities

Planning: Maintenance planners must schedule maintenance work so as not to interfere with operations or production activities. They must also use their best judgment to triage work orders in the event of an emergency or maintenance backlog. Whats more, their responsibility is to coordinate and oversee all maintenance tasks from start to finish.

• Orders: As the person responsible for enforcing organization and timeliness with respect to maintenance tasks, maintenance planners must have extraordinary organizational skills. This means meticulously documenting maintenance tasks, assigning work orders to the right technicians, maintaining the budget, and continuously updating information in the CMMS.

PMs: Prepare preventive maintenance plans that are aligned with the organizations maintenance goals. Work with maintenance technicians, managers, engineers, and operators to help create Preventative Maintenance SOPs.

• Purchasing: MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) is an umbrella term covering all maintenance parts used for repairs or to support production operations. MRO is a procurement term that describes how an organization procures goods and services to maintain its infrastructure. MROs can provide a wide range of services from maintenance to upgrades, repairs, and replacements. The reason why MRO is so important is because it helps keep organizations running smoothly.
• Control: Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems. Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers. Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.
• Assistant: Administrative assistants play an important role in organizing, managing, and keeping an office running. Most administrative assistants are responsible for clerical and organizational tasks like file organizing, scheduling appointments, assisting other staff members, and drafting correspondence or messages.
• Control: Maintains organized and updated documents for a business using document management software, uploading, or scanning paper documents, obtaining documents, and ensuring proper and secure storage.
• Courier
• up and delivering packages. Taking responsibility for high-value or confidential items. Accepting payments for certain items. Filling out paperwork about completed deliveries. Gathering signatures from recipients upon delivery.

Primary Responsibilities (Continued)

• Management Assistant: Meet with contractors and vendors to support Maintenance demands. Stand in when the Manager is pulled off for emergencies. Answer questions and follow up with status or ETAs. Always take notes.

Liaison: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for any good maintenance planner. Writing detailed work orders and manuals to explain complex processes is essential to maintaining safety standards in the workplace. Failure to do so can cause delays or even result in a technician missing vital safety information and risking injury. Serve as a liaison between maintenance and operations.

Qualifications (Competencies, Minimum Education Requirements, Training or Experience)

• School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• California State Drivers License Required.
• of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Spanish/English, preferred.
• Skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
