- Minimum certification requirements - Must be at least 16 years old (summer camp) and 17 years old (water safety).
- Applicant must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and instructional experience (water safety and lifeguard).
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred but not required (water safety and lifeguard).
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Assists and instruct 5th grade students with swimming skills.
- Teaches students how to be safe in and around the water.
- Supervises students in an aquatic environment.
- Assists with check-in and assignments.
- Monitors campers during snack time, swimming time and restroom breaks.
- Helps set-up and clean-up daily camp activities.
- Interacts with campers during daily game time and swim time.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
