- Conducts mental health screenings andassessments based on a review of available records and clinicalinterviews with inmates. Provides treatment to inmates by developing,implementing and modifying individual treatment plans based on anevaluation of needs and level offunctioning.
- Documents treatment andevaluation activities in the health care record for each personseen.
- Maintains strictconfidentiality of sensitive materials and information at alltimes.
- Demonstrates a thoroughknowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by wayof treatments and activities used for individuals incaseload.
- Provides appropriatemental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions toaddress the needs ofinmates.
- Graduate from anaccredited college or university with a Master's degree in SocialWork, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or a degree in a relatedclinical area.
- Five (5) years of clinical experience whichincludes two (2) years in a comparable job positionrequired.
- Must possess appropriate certification or licensing inthe state where practice occurs.
- A valid driver's license is preferred unless required bycontract or applicable statute. Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21years of age.
