- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
- Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
- Conduct complex tax research and report findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
- Manage all aspects of the estate tax planning.
- Evaluate current tax strategies and propose changes as necessary to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assist in financial planning and analysis.
- Continually assess our internal controls within the tax process to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Keep abreast of current developments in the tax area and provide tax training to finance staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a CPA designation is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
- Solid understanding of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
- Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
- Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and produce high-quality results by agreed deadlines.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude.
