    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will perform research activities using approved techniques.

    The CRC procures, processes/ships research specimens and conducts patient recruitment, administers questionnaires, abstracts medical records, maintains patient databases, enters data into sponsor-specific electronic data capture forms, performs administrative tasks, assists in grant preparation, participates in preparation of data and other reports and assists with audits.


    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Evaluate and track the eligibility of all patients seen in the clinic for eligibility in research studies. Conduct telephone interviews and schedule patients for study visits.
    • Obtain informed consent (for non-treatment studies) and register patients to cohort studies and other protocols.
    • Review and abstract the medical records for patients, including review of pathology reports. Collect and organize patient data. Review data for quality and completeness based on established queries.
    • Access patient demographic and clinical information and enter information into the appropriate EMR and eCRF systems and departmental systems in an accurate manner.

    OTHER

    • Perform clinical tests (Phlebotomy, EKGs) and assist with the coordination of the collection, processing, organization, and storage of biological specimens
    • May be responsible for IRB and regulatory submissions and maintenance of regulatory files
    • Other duties including send out mailings, take inventory/ordering supplies, monitor and set up equipment

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Prefer experience in clinical research (not to be confused with lab research).
    • Previous experience with recruiting subjects, with an understanding of the ethical and technical conduct of research preferred

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
    • Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers.
    • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information.
    This position is funded by an 8 year grant. There may be opportunity beyond this grant funding for position integration into ongoing operations.
