DSPs in Enhanced Services support clients with low to high behaviors in the following ratios 1:1 up to 1:4.
This is a team environment where 10 to 15 staff work together and have supervisors on-site daily.
Our goal in this department is to provide meaningful work for our clients each day
The clients in this department have few physical disabilities and require infrequent personal cares.
As a DSP, you will assist clients in developing job skills by encouraging them to complete work tasks, track their time, and work on positive behavior techniques, all while focusing on their person-centered plans. Merrick, Inc. is the largest Day Program in Ramsey County, with more than 400 clients in our employment, vocational rehabilitation, and life enrichment programs We have a 59-year history of leadership in person-centered planning, self-advocacy, meaningful work options, and community inclusion.

Essential Physical Functions
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this position. The employee must be able to continually sit, stand, walk, and communicate throughout each day. The employee must also be able to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, run, reach, push, pull, regularly move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. This may include moving clients who are unable to support their own weight or pushing and pulling wheelchairs used by clients weighing pounds.
