    Description

    You will be responsible for fulfilling all foods orders and maintaining a clean and orderly dining room for our guests.

    In this position, efficient and accurate cash and credit card handling along with a friendly and outgoing demeanor are a recipe for success.

    The Food and Beverage division includes Sharky's Café, Event bartending and catering, and Sweet Dreams Candy Company.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Perform, adhere to, and implement all Herschend Family Entertainment Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Experience Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and efficient food and beverage operation.

    Maintain a positive attitude and appearance at all times.

    Approach guests in a friendly manner to offer assistance and provide information regarding Newport Aquarium.

    Arrive on time and ready to work all scheduled shifts, and in accordance with aquarium uniform and appearance standards.

    Keep safety as a number one priority at all times while working at Newport Aquarium.

    Must be self-motivated to work independently, as well as, disciplined and reliable.

    Maintain appropriate guest and team member relations at all times, ensuring guest and team satisfaction.

    Demonstrates strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

    Responsible for maintaining store cleanliness in accordance with food safety guidelines.

    Responsible for proper cash handling and maintaining PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance.

    Maintain a friendly, respectful, outgoing and proactive approach to guests and team members.

    Perform other related duties or projects as assigned by the Food and Beverage management team.

    Ability and willingness to cross train in other food and beverage areas.

    Contribute to a work environment that is satisfying, enjoyable and energetic.

    Required Experience


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Prior cash handling and point of sale experience is a plus.

    Must have strong public speaking skills the ability to read, write and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages is a plus)

    Must be able to think clearly, react quickly, and calmly to changes and/or stressful situations

    Previous guest service, food industry or retail experience preferred.

    Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and/or weekends and holidays.


    REQUIREMENTS:
    Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

    Ability to remain stationary for long periods, ascend & descend stairs, bend and stoop.

    Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.


    Note:
    Position will involve exposure to

    food and nut allergens.
