    Description

    FAME is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to become part of the Finance Team as a Senior Accountant. This position provides a variety of higher-level accounting services for the Authority, including preparing and posting journal entries, review of journal entries prepared by others, preparing account reconciliations, review of reconciliations prepared by others, preparing work papers for auditors, preparing financial forecasts and analyses, and working on special projects. The position includes working extensively with staff in other divisions to understand the Authority's programs for ensuring proper and accurate accounting and financial data.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of four (4) year college degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field is required (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience).
    • Minimum of three (3) years related work experience.
    • Knowledge of investment accounting.
    • Demonstrated understanding of general governmental accounting principles.
    • Knowledge of and the ability to apply accounting principles and procedures in areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, general ledger, and monthly and yearly fiscal period closings.
    • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and spreadsheets. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal relations, and oral and written communication.
    Salary Description

    $55,000 - $64,000 annually
