The Department of Environmental Protection is seeking to fill a Secretary Specialist vacancy in Augusta._

Representative duties of the position include: Liaise between Commissioner, senior managers, legislators, and both internal and external constituents on key matters; compose, review, and edit correspondence; transmit orders and decisions with explanations as necessary; interpret and implement the policies and decisions of agency management; schedule meetings and events; maintain records of correspondence in accordance with state law and Department policy; maintain building control for staff in four regional offices; and coordinate with reception staff to answer public calls and direct visitors.

Experience with public relations, dealing with complaints and difficult customers.
Experience with governmental processes for purchasing, hiring, and travel.
Experience with building control systems.
Ability to effectively plan and adjust work operations to meet planned and unexpected changes.
Ability to compose, review, and edit complex and/or technical business correspondence.
