The Summer Learning paraprofessional is responsible for successfully support students in bridging skill/behavior gaps in student learning.
Qualifications:
- Active State of Delaware Certifications for paraprofessional
- Experience using effective teaching practices
- Experience and proven ability to effectively support the needs of students with gaps in learning
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience working in an urban school environment required
- Professional Development is required for curriculum materials
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven ability to analyze data to identify learning needs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to identify learning needs of students through use of data
- Support students in skill areas of need using with support from researchbased practices and programs
- Effectively teach required skill areas to Elementary students and/Middle/or High School students
- Implements program that meets the individual needs of the students
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
- Support in the assessment of students on a regular basis and provides reports as required, as well as notifying parents of student progress when necessary
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Support in maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
- Works cooperatively with all staff and parents
- Performs other duties as assigned
