Pavestone LLC, a part of the QUIKRETE Companies, a manufacturer for concrete products for commercial, industrial, and retail customers, has an immediate opening for a
Transportation Manager located at our
Katy, TX location.

We are looking for a professional with at least five years' experience managing drivers, asset utilization & maintenance and DOT compliance (preferably in a manufacturing environment).

This person must be a self-starter who can learn and grow with us as we expand

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operation and performance of driving personnel & dispatch for three local branches (approx. 30 drivers)
Responsible for setting up loads to be delivered to our customers utilizing internal & external fleet, maximizing internal fleet
Maintain base of carriers while negotiating delivery rates
Oversee maintenance of fleet with drivers, utilizing internal & external vendors
Adhere to our company policies and procedures
Utilize TMS system when trained
Working hand and hand with plant & sales to ensure timely deliveries
Coordinate routing with drivers, outside carriers, and/or carrier dispatcher
Ensure ontime freight delivery
Problem solve driver and/or carrier issues
Driver hiring & development
Adhere and manage to all federal DOT safety regulations maintaining all DOT & OSHA requirements
Conduct and lead Weekly / Monthly safety meetings with drivers

Qualifications/Competencies:

5+ years Managing transportation
Solid computer skills with high level of competence in the use of Microsoft Excel to track progress toward established goals for the trucking operations and generate reports that are concise, easily understood, and communicated to appropriate levels of the organization
Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively interact with customers and/or drivers and with key management personnel within our assigned region
Ability to utilize various transportation technologies, such as Transportation Management Systems; GPS; and Electronic Logging
Understand the impact of transportation on customer service and work to improve delivery performance to meet or exceed the customer expectations.
Previous manufacturing environment experience helpful, not required.
