Planning and Construction Management (m/f/d) Water Engineering
for the City Drainage Department

With over 500 employees, the City Drainage Department of Düsseldorf ensures comprehensive wastewater management, flood protection, and waterway maintenance.

The Special Structures and Water Engineering department is responsible for planning and constructing flood protection facilities along the Rhine and inner-city waterways, as well as waterway development.


As a planning engineer and construction manager in the field of water engineering, you will work together with project managers to realize challenging planning and construction projects along the Rhine and inner-city waterways.


Your tasks include:

Planning and construction of water engineering facilities, with a focus on flood protection, port construction, and waterway development of all sizes
National and EU-wide procurement of engineering and construction services
Supporting project management in public relations, organizing public information events, and presenting projects to political bodies
Assuming the role of client in accordance with construction site regulations for each project.


Your profile:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering or a comparable qualification
Professional experience in planning and constructing water engineering facilities is advantageous
Good knowledge of construction and procurement law, particularly HOAI and VOB
Ability to think across disciplines and organizations, negotiation skills, assertiveness, strong communication skills, and teamwork
Possession of an unrestricted driver's license (Class 3/EU standard B).
