Product Design Engineer
for our Biddeford, Maine location who will be responsible for the mechanical development and support of both current and future ARS products.
The candidate should have a passion for product design and a sense of ownership that will lead to the development of next generation products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead the mechanical design and development of new products including the development of 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
Participate in product testing and qualification efforts
Identify equipment and materials needed for production and product testing
Design, prototype, test, and implement both new manufacturing processes and current process improvements
Assist quality and purchasing with product configuration management
Be a driving force in the Lean Continuous Improvement culture; facilitate improvement projects
In collaboration with quality and manufacturing, review applicable non-conformance reports and identify solutions to resolve issues as part of corrective / preventive action process
Ensure safety and comfort of shop floor through continuous improvement of ergonomics
Support and adhere to all safety and environmental regulations & policies
Collaborate with other Rheinmetall sites and operations around the world
Support the VP Engineering by performing other assigned duties
