    The Athletic Business Office Accounting Assistant role is an integral part of the Athletic Department at the University of Portland.

    Duties involve accounts payable, account receivable, team travel, purchase card reconciliation, and clerical.

    Core Duties


    • Assist with processing and preparing dozens of accounts payable requests weekly including invoices, cash advances, purchase orders, etc.
    • Assist with processing and preparing accounts receivable items such as donations, sponsorship funds and other revenue.
    • Reconcile main department purchasing card consisting of hundreds of monthly transactions.
    • Maintain professional relationships internally with Athletic Staff and other University personnel (controller's office).
    • Maintain professional relationships externally with merchants and vendors.
    • Perform other clerical work such as filing, copying, scanning, etc.
    • Other relevant duties as assigned
    Minimum Qualifications


    • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
    • Strong commitment to confidentiality
    • Ability to problem solve, work independently, and think critically
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • General interest and respect for college athletics
    • Sound Microsoft Office suite skills (including Word, Excel, Access) and Adobe
    • Ability to work 8 hours per week.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Interest in accounting or business preferred but not required
