- Generate product designs in accordance with TA / Industry specifications and customer performance criteria including feasibility review of customer drawings.
- Generate innovative new product ideas and applications.
- Develop assembly and detail drawings including reviews of completed drawings for accuracy and adherence to specification requirements.
- Insure that each project is managed by a milestone to ensure that design and prototype lead times are well defined and schedules are adhered to.
- Work closely with Project Engineer to support the design and development of new products.
- Depending on complexity, will typically have responsibility for several technical design assignments.
- Provide design and drafting support to Project Engineers
- Perform all work in accordance with published TA Aerospace engineering processes and standards.
- Maintain technical accuracy and quality of work for all assignments; such as analytical support, review design alternatives and tolerance studies.
- Provide assistance to Sales/Marketing as required.
- Provide technical support to suppliers as required.
- Participate in lean product development and process improvement events; assist with value stream mapping, establishing future state and fully defining improvement opportunities.
- Extensive knowledge of Aerospace elastomer molding and mechanical components is preferred.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and be self-motivated.
- Accountable for schedules and response times.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and specifications.
- Strong technical writing skills; able to convey content as well as understandability at all levels of the organization.
- Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Project) and Visio.
- Basic Catia V5, CAD, and/or 3D solid modeling skills.
- Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and multitask to manage routine tasks in addition to special projects.
- Excellent responsiveness and customer focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- To conform to US export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the US Government
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering field from four-year college or university
- Previous experience in an aerospace or technology manufacturing environment
- 3-5 years of applicable progressively complex engineering design experience.

We do this in a vertically integrated, 90,000 square-foot facility in Valencia, CA. TA Aerospace is a wholly owned subsidiary of the TransDigm Group ( ), which is an industry leader in design and production of highly engineered aircraft components. TransDigm has nearly 50 independent operating units across the globe.
The Design Engineer is responsible for all aspects of technical product and or component design from initial part/product conceptualization, to full engineering development. The Design Engineer consults and interacts with the Business Unit Teams and Manufacturing Engineering. The Design Engineer is responsible for technical engineering support of current product lines through value analysis, product quality improvements, manufacturability, and reduction of field related or production problems.
