    QTEC Aerospace is seeking multiple SOFTWARE ENGINEERS to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidates will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidates will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.


    Job Summary

    QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as integral members of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The successful candidates will perform as Software Engineers on the program Enterprise Services Team responsible for software development in Java.


    Job Duties/Responsibilities

    Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

    • Performs in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
    • Maintains, debugs, and configures related software products
    • Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications
    • Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs
    • Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system
    • Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation
    • Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require instruction and guidance

    Minimum Education and Experience

    • Bachelors degree in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field from an accredited college with at least 3 years of experience.
    • Security+ or equivalent required within 60 days of start

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Experience with software engineering and software development with Java/JEE
    • Experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management
    • Experience developing enterprise applications
    • Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits
    • Knowledge of server-side/database development and computer system administration
    • Experience working as part of an Agile team
    • Use of common software development and management tools such as GitLab, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, maven or Gradle, and Eclipse
    • Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
    • Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

    Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking
    • Command and control system application development
    • Automated test and pipeline development experience
    • Test driven development
    • Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
    • Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scrips
    • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend and develop a solution
    • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF)/STIG/Fortify/SonarQube mitigation
    • Applicant should have a good working knowledge of MS Office products

    Security Clearance

    Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.


    Salary Range

    $82,000 - $161,000

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
