With the area's only Level II Trauma Center the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center and the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the Brazos Valley; CHI St.
Joseph Health is a leader in critical care and the largest provider of cardiovascular care in the region. As an integrated healthcare system CHI St.Joseph Health includes a comprehensive network of over 100 employed providers including primary care physicians specialists and advanced practice clinicians.
The network includes more than 20 ambulatory clinics featuring primary care a freestanding Emergency Room Express Clinics and imaging and diagnostic services.
Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of general and vascular ultrasonography imaging techniques to assist the Radiologist in successfully diagnosing and treating the patient's condition.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
ESSENTIAL
Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family.
Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care.
Assess patient's condition/information and determine the appropriateness of procedures to be performed as required by the Intersociety Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories and to establish medical necessity as mandated by HCFA.
Evaluate patients for the presence or absence, severity and location of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effective procedure(s) from an array of anatomic, hemodynamic and physiologic procedures including duplex scanning, plethysmography, doppler ultrasound, pressure measurements and active or passive hyperemic challenge.
Document and prepare patient records for review and interpretation by physician, including the selection, recording, cross-referencing of significant or representative studies.
Prepare a complete and accurate written report for subsequent review and signature of the medical director or higher designee.Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.

Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, Vascular Imaging, or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs

Licensure/Certifications
Required:
Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS-RVT).
America Heart Association BLS CPR.
