    We have the following job opportunity in our New York City office:

    Description

    The Senior Underwriter will be exposed to many aspects of casualty liability (re)insurance, including General Liability, Automobile Liability, Excess and Umbrella. This position will report to the Senior Facultative officer within the Traditional Casualty Division. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
    • Handling all facets of Broker/Client management including marketing, negotiating, and underwriting new and renewal accounts
    • Evaluating complex risks associated with underwriting a casualty facultative book of business
    • Assisting with managing the balance of the existing portfolio
    • Conducting research and development of new reinsurance products within the Casualty space
    • Acting as a knowledge resource across the company by communicating up to date information on the casualty marketplace via emails, SharePoint, newsletters, and presentations
    • Researching emerging exposures
    • Tracking and managing various liability aggregation across the company
    • Providing client service and management including assisting in underwriting audits, account maintenance and servicing of existing and future client base
    • Acting as a marketing representative to ensure TransRe is capitalizing on all viable (re)insurance opportunities
    • Traveling to client sites and industry meetings/conferences
    Requirements
    • 7+ years of industry experience handling individual risk accounts
    • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, related discipline or relevant experience
    • Knowledge of (re)insurance underwriting concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques
    • Previous exposure to the E&S market and construction product line highly desirable
    • Established broker and client relationships highly desirable
    • Ability to learn rapidly, adapt quickly to change, exercise influence, and manage priority multiple concurrent projects
    • Ability to communicate and negotiate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners
    • Willing to travel to attend underwriting meetings, audits, conferences as required
    Work Schedule

    TransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office's practices and preferences marketplace trends, and TransRe's business objectives. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office per week, and 2 days remote.

    Compensation

    In addition to base salary, for this position, TransRe offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity. The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $160,000 - $200,000 This range is an estimate and the actual base salary offered for this position will be determined based on certain factors, including the applicant's specific skill set and level of experience.
