Description
The Finance Director, reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer and senior management team, will oversee all of Trilogy's finance activities of the company, including financial planning, accounting, forecasting, budgeting, tax, treasury, lending, and internal audit functions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, proactive and strategic thinking, and the ability to foster positive relationships throughout the organization.
They will serve as the subject matter expert, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment of financial strategies with business objectives.Responsibilities include developing financial management strategies, enhancing financial reporting, and accounting functions, offering strategic and tactical financial support, providing guidance on corporate performance, operational guidelines, compliance, and M&A execution, and regularly reporting to the audit committee, shareholders, and the Board of Directors.
Essential Duties / ResponsibilitiesSet and execute on financial strategies that align to the Company's business plans; define the corporate financial strategy, manage financial capital, and communicate capital requirements/ implications of business decisions to executive team, Board of Directors, and shareholders
In partnership with the executive team, create, develop and deploy the necessary systems and processes to track and report key performance metrics (KPI's) for the business
Oversee the overall operations and effective performance of the finance department and staff
Identify opportunities to leverage technology to streamline processes, optimize efficiencies, and allow the business the scale
Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, shareholder reports, tax returns and governmental agency reports, including management of back office and outsourced operational accounting and financial consolidation activities
Oversee preparation of reliable current and forecasting reports.
Ensure yearly budget preparation, cashflow preparation, functional team objectives and ensure compliance with all other internal and external reporting requirements.
Deliver comparisons and analytics of revenue, expense and profit projections to actual figures and adjust future projections and budgets as requiredManage relationships with independent auditors and audit committee, banking relationships as well as all third-party financial relationships
Performing risk management by identifying and addressing financial and other risks and mitigation strategies for the Company
Lead the organization's treasury management and capital structure optimization (including managing the Company's payment and reporting obligations to its third-party lenders)
Lead development of financial systems and outsourcing relationships that will allow the business to scale
Implement financial management policies, procedures, processes, and practices to ensure sustainable long-term financial health and optimize internal controls (including maintenance of the Company's risk register)
Management of Capital Expenditures; ROI planning and tracking, post implementation reviews as necessary
Coordinate an RFP process for the selection of a nationally recognized external auditor and start conducting annual financial audits
Have proficiency with NetSuite and Power BI for data visualization and creating insightful dashboards (including familiarity with connecting Power BI to various data sources)
Provide expertise in Power Query for data transformation and integration, ensuring data accuracy and reliability
Support M&A execution and post-closing integration activities

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Internal or 3rd part auditing experience
At least 5 years of managerial experience in a financial role
Superior leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build and mentor effective teams and form strong interpersonal relationships across the organization
Ability to work effectively with the Executive Team and Board to develop and manage strategic initiatives – able to build relationships of trust, confidence and respect with Audit Committee and broader Board of Directors
Thorough knowledge of legislation and regulations affecting organizational financial affairs and operations
Exemplary practical and technical knowledge of operational finance, back-office finance and accounting, and consolidation
Direct experience in the Asset & Wealth Management industry
Excellent communication and organization skills with a high attention for detail
Ability to manage projects to ensure objectives, budgets, and timelines are met.
Experience building and optimizing processes, systems and structure within a shared services environment Including the use of outsourcing relationships
Proven track record of leading and managing financial teams within a high growth environment
Excellent analytical skills combined with a practical, quantifiable, and structured approach to problem-solving (including proficiency in Power BI and Power Query)
Able to deal with people ethically, honestly and with integrity
Ability to think creatively and critically in a fast-paced work environment
Experience working alongside a private equity partner considered an asset, but not required
Education and Credentials
Possession of a professional accounting designation (CPA or CA)
Graduate degree in related discipline (MBA) preferred but not required
