- Interact in a professional manner with students, parents and colleagues
- Assess the educational and mental health needs of students by participating in school based programs and intervention activities designed to address learning and behavioral difficulties Recommend strategies to teachers, parents, and administrators regarding learning styles, challenges in behavior, social skills, and individual needs of students
- Provide staff development training to staff and community personnel
- Collaborate with school and community based personnel
- Keep current in evidence based professional practices
- Assist in the development of the initial IEP in collaboration with the case conference committee
- Assist in meeting the educational and mental health needs of all students by actively participating in school based programs, intervention activities, and serving on collaborative teams to be proactive in supporting students with learning and behavioral difficulties
- Attend required meetings and school related activities
- Use a wide variety of assessment techniques at an individual, group and systems level to evaluate and identify potential learning and behavioral difficulties and to monitor progress,
- Prepare qualitative, comprehensive evaluation reports that identify strengths and areas of need for students and provide educational recommendations in language that is easily understood by parents and educators
- Serve as Case Manager for initial multidisciplinary evaluations
- Adhere to state, federal and corporation guidelines regarding the referral process. Complete evaluations and reports in a timely and accurate manner by adhering to state and federal guidelines regarding completion of the referral process
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
- Valid license from the Indiana Department of Education, Division of Professional Standards
